The Message of the Cross for Salvation

There is none righteous, no not one... Romans 3:10

God is a just God.  No one can truthfully say that they are not guilty of
breaking at least some of God's Laws.  In our own strength, we are not
capable of living a perfectly sinless life.  All of us are born with a natural
inclination toward sin, and no matter how hard we try, we cannot
completely overcome this.

Because we are in a state of sin, the Bible says that
God's wrath abides on us.  

Does the fact that you have sinned against God scare you?  It should.  
Just as a human judge will not excuse a thief or rapist, God will not
excuse a law-breaker either.  He is a just God, and by His own righteous
standards, must punish all who have sinned in
hell - a place of everlasting torment and separation from Him.

God is a loving God.  He does not want us to end up in hell, but we are
not capable of redeeming ourselves.  So in His love, He provided a way
for us to go free.  The Bible says that God became a man (Jesus Christ),
and even though Jesus never sinned, He died on the cross as a
payment for our sins so that we can be set free.  
We broke the law - Jesus paid the fine.

All you have to do to receive this gift, is confess to God from your heart
that you are a sinner, turn away from your sins (repent), and surrender
your life to following Jesus.  It's as simple as that, and you can do it right
now.  You don't need to be in some "holy" place, or be with some "holy"
person.  Speak directly to God from your heart in your own words, or say
the prayer that we have printed on the What We Believe page of this
website under the heading "The Priceless Corner".  Please, for your
own sake, don't put this off until some other time.  Until you accept
God's gift, you are still under His wrath.

How will you know for sure if you are truly saved?  

There will be evidence of change in your life.  Once you have accepted
Jesus as the Lord of your life and commit to following Him, you will start
producing the fruit of the Spirit of God.  This fruit is love, joy, peace,
long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and
temperance.  Some of these things may come to you quickly, others may
take some time.  The life of a Christian is not one of trouble-free bliss
and endless perfection, but in the midst of troubles and failures, you
will know that Jesus is right there with you. If you never abandon your
faith in Him, He will never abandon you.
